NVBC Work Health & Safety (WHS) Induction Checklist

WHS and other Church Policies can be found online at https://nvbc.info/policies/. A copy of the WHS Policy is in the Church Office, and WHS Folders in the NVBC Facility.

First Aid Kits: the 3 First Aid Kits are located in the Church Office, the Hall Kitchen and Foyer Kitchenette and are identified by a green sticker with a white cross.

Defibrillator is located in the Foyer Kitchenette. Please note this is automated and will tell you what to do.

Please be aware that if you are using this on a person with a hairy chest, you must first shave the hair from where the defibrillator needs to be placed. A razor is provided.

A WHS Forms folder is also located in the Church Office, the Hall Kitchen and Foyer Kitchenette, with the First Aid kits, except for the office, where the folder is on the reception desk. These folders includes: WHS Policy. Emergency Contact List, Hazard

Emergency Procedure Flip Charts are located with each of the above WHS Folders and on top of the Microwave in the Office kitchen. These are quick reference guides.

Hazard Report Form: is the document used to ensure that appropriate actions are taken to prevent the hazard from turning into an incident - and also acts as the formal record of that hazard.

Accident/Incident Report Form: is intended to focus on the cause and prevention of further occurrences. It is an important tool used to document the accident/incident and assist in investigating the cause.

First Aid Form: is the record of immediate treatment or care given to a person suffering from an injury. Please always consider if calling emergency services is required.

All completed forms must be provided to the Church Office for the WHS Officer. Please give to a Pastor or Staff member onsite, email a copy to church@nvbc.info or provide to the Info Desk ASAP.

The emergency evacuation points are the front grassed area of the property and the basketball court at the rear of the property.

Auditorium facility can be exited via the glass foyer doors into the forecourt, and the door to the left of the stage into the carpark at the front of the facility.

Hall facility can be exited through the two double glass doors into the forecourt. One near the kitchen, the other at the end of the hall near the Office.

Please note, the single glass door that exits onto the side of the property is not an emergency exit as there are locked gates either end of the corridor between the facility and the boundary fence.

In the event of an evacuation during a Sunday Service, people in the Auditorium and top section of the facility will be directed by the Service Manager and Ushers. The Hall and Kids Church Rooms will be directed by the Children's Pastor.

There is no smoking allowed within any of the NVBC facility or within the gated forecourt area. The designated smoking area is the boundary side of the basketball court.

No illegal drugs or substances are allowed on the NVBC Property and no Alcohol is to be consumed on site without NVBC Board approval.
